EAST LANSING -- Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio isn't happy about some of the disparaging tweets that came from his players during Michigan's 41-14 loss to Alabama on Saturday.
"Our guys need to keep their mouths shut," Dantonio said. "Especially those who aren't even playing."
Freshman linebacker Jamal Lyles, walk-on safety Kyle Artinian and backup running back Nick Hill all tweeted insults in regard to the play of U-M quarterback Denard Robinson during the game. Starting linebacker Denicos Allen also got into it, saying MSU walk-on quarterback Tommy Vento might be better than Robinson.
Dantonio said he would address it with his team and that there would be consequences -- but that a Twitter ban will not be considered. He called the tweets "disrespectful" and pointed out that Alabama recently blew out his team in a 49-7 decision in the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1, 2011.
"You can't be prideful," Dantonio said. "You need to approach this game with humility. When this becomes personal, that's when it crosses the line."
