He spent the first seven years of his career at Oregon. McCormick redshirted in 2016 before playing in 13 games in 2017. He was injured in the first game of 2018 and then missed all of the 2019 and 2020 seasons. Returning to the field in 2021, he played in two games before suffering a season-ending injury. McCormick was finally healthy in 2022 and once again played in 13 games.
