It's a if you can't beat em, join em move and maybe it will turn into an MLB approved sort of thing when contracts run out for Sony? I can't see Sony even wanting to continue next time but that's speculation...

They could get any game they want, and gamepass gives the game more exposure than it would have. If it's not renewed it's only because the gamers didn't want it. Otherwise I don't see them not sticking it to Sony again because it's a big deal

Sony does not have rights to it's own game outside of PlayStation. MLB owns the rights to the game on all other platforms and that is just what the MLB had in the contract. And Microsoft then made a deal for it to be in gamepass with the MLB which is a win win for them because now their game is exposed to way more players than they would have.microsoft has to pay the MLB???
