You'll have to be more specific in your snide commentary the next time you think to call Metal Gear Solid a movie. There will be a proper film based on the popular Konami property, said X-Men and Spider-Man producer Avi Arad, who announced the project at a special Metal Gear 25th anniversary event in Japan.

Metal Gear Solid designer and figurehead Hideo Kojima hinted at a film project back in March, suggesting that the franchise in its current state wouldn't be quite compatible with Hollywood. The extent of his participation is currently unclear, as is the film's production schedule, plot and likelihood of relying on nanobots to explain all the weird-ass things that happen.

The film will come courtesy of Columbia Pictures, and be praised and lambasted in equal measure for its use of 40-minute long "audience participation scenes."

They see me trolling, they hating.....
This will either be a bust or one of the greatest films ever

personally I feel like if they follow the story of MGS3 and maybe add in a few new surprises then I don't see how the film wouldn't be oscar worthy (Yes MGS3's story was just THAT good)

WTF IS "audience participation scenes" THO? :dwillhuh:

They don't have time to do it right with just one film...playing through the 4 games if they follow the exact plot of the games it can be one of the greatest films of all time...but since Christopher Nolan ain't doing it I'm concerned it will be chopped up and cheesy

Am I the only one who feels that MGS would be better translated as an Anime (Film or series it doesn't matter) than a live action movie?

Have you seen how animated adaptations of games usually turn out? They have just as bad of a track record as Games adapted into live action films or games based on films.

Nolam would ruin any chance of this movie having great action scenes.

MGS from a story standpoint is pretty fukking boring. The game and its situations was what made the game fun.
I seriously cannot tell you shyt about the storyline of the series, and I played thru 3 of them and 2 NES ones.
Like, I know of bits n pieces, but none of it is crystal clear (alot of that is by design)
I just don't see them being able to capture what makes MGS, MGS in a movie.

Now if they made an Anime about it :ohhh:

Which reminds me, I never seen past the first episode of Catshyt 1
Time to get my tor-went on...

The games by themselves were dope movies, I can't imagine how well they'll translate with a real movie. I dunno, maybe they can do an origin movie?

If Hideo Kojima doesn't write the dialogue this could be good.

yeah Kojima doesn't need to write it, but its all about the effects and the action....using CQC in the movies is gonna look dumb as fukk...they gotta make it more combat.
