Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance might not be the only Metal Gear game released in 2013. Voice and motion-capture actor Eric Bossic, who played the lead role in Silent Hill 4, says he's been enlisted for the next game in the series and it might only be a year away.

"I am working on a future metal gear, not to be released until next year summer at the earliest, if not later then that," Bossic told Silent Haven. "I'm doing motion capture only. I can 100% say my voice will not be involved in this."

Bossic added that he's not sure what the title of this new game is. The development team is being very secretive at this point. He hasn't been told all of the story details for scenes he has acted out.

All that Bossic can confirm is that Snake will be appearing in the plot. He's playing the role of one of Snake's allies. No mention of whether it's Solid Snake or Naked Snake.

While Metal Gear Solid 4 seemed to wrap up that particular series, there's plenty of ways to keep the story going. It's just a matter of creating another group of idiosyncratic terrorists who steal a Metal Gear. Seriously, it's that simple.

Konami plans to hold a 25th anniversary celebration for Metal Gear on August 30th. Series creator Hideo Kojima is due to make an announcement at the event. If a new MGS game is truly in development, perhaps they'll announce it at this event.

honestly MGS4 sucked major donkey balls. I haven't touched it after I finished it.

5 minutes gameplay followed by hour long cutscene really made the game a chore. I think Kojima was more concerned about showing the power of the ps3 rather than make an entertaining game.

Let's hope this one would be different. MGS3 is top - 5 game of all time. I don't know why he tried to go on a different route with MGS4.

Kojima Production showed off a demo of the next Metal Gear Solid game called Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The game was showcased on the 25th Anniversary of the franchise and the game was demoed using the new Fox Engine.

No images or videos of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero were released when the demo was showcased but those that attended the event say that the demo started with a real-time cutscene that went straight into gameplay.

The game featured Naked Snake, not Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid 4. This adventure belongs to Big Boss. The demo showed off an open world level in which Snake kills guards, evades searchlights by crawling and riding around in a jeep. The demo was reportedly running on a PC rather than the PS3.

What remains to be seen is whether this is just a tech demo for the new Fox Engine or is this part of a new Metal Gear Solid game.

The demo was 20-minutes long and the highlight was the open world structure of the game. Up till now, the most basic way to describe a Metal Gear Solid game is to guide Snake from point A to point B either by stealth or by taking down the enemies.

In the image that has been revealed, Snake seems to be packing some new gear that makes him look a lot like Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell. The gear that is evident from the image is night vision goggles, right eye patch (that's how we know that its Big Boss and not Solid Snake), camouflage suit and a big gun.

:takedat:

So fly ass Snake taking over again...:whoo:

To be honest, if Kojima does decide to make MGS5, I rather he create a whole new protagonist, instead of a prequel with Naked snake/big boss. They can have Solid Snake involved in the plot somehow. No need to milk the whole "Story of Snake" thing. Create something new that the fans will love, and that the original fans can appreciate and love also.
