I'm assuming the reason they started with MGS3 is because that's the one that's the furthest back chronologically in the plot, and they will be remaking MGS 1 and 2 to follow up.
But I didn't even think of MG 1 and 2 getting remade with modern graphics, that would be so dope

Good luck remaking the original metal gears or MGS1 without Kojima to put the quirks and flourish into it.
its easy to do a graphical only overhaul its another thing to try and completely remake a game from the ground up. See, Twin Snakes, and that was much closer to the original release.

Not really, people are fixating too much on Kojima, we got plenty of MG from Kojima, another talented team can come in a give their take on it and be successful, its like saying Zelda can't go on without Miyamoto.
MG 1 outside of some story bits its pretty much a blank book, MG 2 has more story and gameplay scenarios but its also almost a blank book because of all the stuff you can add between those moments.

I didn’t even realize Twin Snakes deviated from the OG until recently. I was a kid so I didn’t mind the changes but it seems like the purists really hated the change from quirky/weird to action oriented.
This has to be one of the most unnecessary remasters ever, hd collection is fine remake 4.
. .. i copped a PS3 when MGS 4 dropped and they had the special-edition bundle . . .. back when they still did the midnight-releases . . .. some dude came low-crawling into the store in full Snake cosplay mode . . .. lookin straight outta Snake Eater . . .. but with that being said . . .. . i never got past the opening cut-scene . . aka. . .. . movie . .. . . and i dont think i ever actually ended up played 4 . . .. . what did i miss ?!?!!!
