i think the only hate the game gets is because of raiden and people wanting to play as snake again...but i understand that kojima wanted snake to be seen from a different perspective

if you want to put the games in order storywise MGS2 is the best story
at this scene back when it first came out. But now I realize Kojima may in fact be a time traveler.

in part 2. Why else would Kojima exaggerate and make him a super cyborg ninja flipping metal gears from his feet as he break danced all over the middle east? You don't go from Solid Snake 
to 
MGS2 Raiden. Kojima knew he made that boy too soft.
So MGS2 was better than MGS3
