Culturally when we discuss black skin, it is often framed as problematic. It is “too dark” or “too light”, but New York photographer Chandler Easley of the Cherry Collab highlights the simple beauty of black skin by posing women of color against vivid backdrops. Check out some of the stunning pictures :

I have to say I hate when they gel down they baby hairs like that.

I definitely agree with you on that...I was feeling that hate get more and more distinct too until she came through:

I also think the photographer should've gotten a much darker skinned black woman for the backdrop below:

It would've made for an amazing contrast shock. All of these women are gorgeous, but this one photo was the one that I felt a little let down by. Like the artist could've done for something great but chose to follow the more conventional standards.
Also, the girl in the "Royal Purple/Violet" backdrop...black? Perhaps I'm prejudiced but she felt odd to me. :francis:

The one in orange tho' :banderas:

I was also a little bothered when I saw her. She looks way more like a White woman than a Mixed/Black girl.

Exactly what I meant. And it's cool, maybe she's got a black parent or even two lightened skinned AA parents and thus identifies as black. It was just an odd addition visually. But maybe the point of her being there is that there are a lot of shades to an AA woman, in which case point taken. :ehh:
