HBO was busy giving out specials to 2 Black women only a handful of white people knew just because they were swirlers. Then Twitter had the audacity to make the special trend when it barley had over 100 tweets about it from the same 20 people. I just think that musical documentaries are more impactful if they cover a wider range of an artist’s career. The reason Kanye’s doc is so fascinating is because it was truly a time capsule for an artist who, for better or worse, not only defined an era but is still a big name 15 years after he debuted (though admittedly mostly for fukkery & bullshyt)
