lol, ur trippin.

I don't get it.

Explain what your point is friend.

My fault. I fixed the link. The story is that some of the tales of the Buddha were circulating around in the Middle East after having been transmitted from South Asia, and eventually found their way into Christian and Muslim sources, where he was cast as a saint or martyr.

who's the first...

and i thought he was agnostic, and really not even categorized as that?

It's hard to categorize his views. People in his time believed in various supernatural beings, including him, but he was agnostic on the issue of an all-powerful Creator God and he said that whether or not one existed was irrelevant because enlightenment can only be achieved by individual effort, and that's the only thing that mattered.

Buddhism and jainism are more agnostic than atheist.

you can look up carvaka for more of an atheistic philosophy.

Agnostic is not the proper term you were looking for, but it is correct [Agnostic means that you are not fully sure some being/force exists or doesn't exist but you still have a belief. Opposite of Gnostic]. They can be placed under the deism/pantheism philosophical label IMO.

True, I was just saying that If it were between characterizing Buddhists as either atheists or agnostics, agnostic fits better.

The Buddha didn't deny the existence of deities, he just didn't see the benefit of worshiping them since they were supposedly created beings just like humans.

Saint Augustine. I like to still think of him as an non-believer because he converted over a weaksauce ass reason. He spent his youth and half his adult years shytting all over Christianity.
