Back before Floyd Mayweather fought Marcos Maidana this past May, there had been a poll up on his website asking fans who they’d like to see him face — Maidana or Amir Khan.
Mayweather chose Maidana, won a decision and is fighting him again in a rematch this September. The pound-for-pound king spoke with a small group of reporters on July 14, and one reporter asked Mayweather would be facing Khan this fall instead had it not been for Khan saying he couldn’t fight this September due to the fasting done for the holiday of Ramadan for several weeks during which a training camp would’ve been held.

“As of right now, like I said before, everyone is shooting for Floyd Mayweather. Only thing I can do is be focused on the guy that’s in front of me. Amir Khan, I mean, he still got Danny Garcia problems. He still, the little kid from here [Lamont Peterson], he still got problems with that guy,” Mayweather said, referencing Khan’s recent losses to those 140-pound fighters. “So like I said before, everybody is trying to hit the lotto and fight Floyd Mayweather. That’s all it is.”

Mayweather was asked if he was saying that Khan hasn’t proven himself yet to earn a fight.

Mayweather put his hands up.

“I don’t know,” he said.

He is. Porter and Thurman are on the up and up and need to strengthen their profiles first. A latin fighter is going to sell but two black fighters and both not being named Floyd Money Mayweather isn't going to sell. When I say relevant, I am referring to PPVs.
