Trainer Jeff Mayweather discussed the potential welterweight fight between top contenders Keith Thurman (23-0, 21KOs) and Devon Alexander (26-2, 14KOs). There have been rumors that a Thurman-Alexander fight is being considered for the fall. Both boxers are handled by Golden Boy Promotions and managed by Al Haymon.
Jeff sees Alexander as the overall better fighter and predicts him to win, rather easily, if he sticks to boxing. Alexander seems to do his very best against aggressive fighters who try to take his head off - like Juan Urango, Marcos Maidana and Jesus Soto Karass.
"That’s a good fight, that’s a real good fight. I think that Devon Alexander has much better skills, Thurman is probably a little better puncher. It’s a pick’em fight. I think that if Devon Alexander is really in his rhythm, I think that he’ll beat him easily. If he can’t deal with the pressure that Thurman brings, I think that he’ll probably come up short. I think whoever dictates the pace of the fight will win," Jeff told On The Ropes Boxing Radio

I'd favor Devon Alexander as well in the fight. He's more skilled than Thurman to me
Either could win, it's a pretty close matchup, but I'd put my predictions record on The Great to beat One Time.
