When the whole run it back plan turned into overpaying Horford and Tobias to make it look like Harris was willing to spend the money on the team. On paper the payroll was high but they were below the tax. Paying everyone to stay would have brought them over the tax. Highering big name coaches and Morey was also a show . That’s why we held onto dudes like Morey, Doc, Nurse, and even Brett because he’s not willing to eat the salary knowing the hires were bad moves.
