This is the first time I've seen Return of Godzilla/Godzilla 1985 on legitimate home video since the VHS era :gladbron:

If you enjoyed Godzilla Minus One, haven't seen any of the older ones, are open to checking them out but dont' wanna watch a 70's B-movie- then definitely check out Return of Godzilla, to this day it might be the scariest the G Man has ever been in a flick

So this was my first time watching the subtitled Japanese version of Returns/1985 and wow :mjlol:

If people thought the Americanized edits to the first film were bad this one was 10x worse

85 version completely watered down the plot aspect of Japan being caught in between the US and Soviet Union, and having to push back on letting the two use them as a nuclear weapons testing range

And this version was just more coherent overall
