There was a lot of pain in his lyrics, but its easy to overlook those statements about growing up with his mom on drugs or his brother getting killed or having to go back to prison over some bullshyt, because of the way he would slip them in so nonchalantly. :mjcry:


"Closer I Get To You" is that track where you just sit down and listen, and put it all together and realize the pain and sadness that's masked under the bottles and liquor. I was listening to French's song, "Bricks & Walls" (the 4min full version; the last video he ever did with Max BTW, but they cut the last 2 min off Coke Wave) where he says "Hell yeah I'm brain dead, my excuse." :wow:

Closer to you had me crying on the train when my Auntie was ill in hospital, shyt just came on randomly. Can't listen to that shyt no more, too emotional.
