Before I start, lemme just say I'm 100% serious with this, and I'm aware the thread will derail after 3rd reply, but I have to put this down.

I can't categorize pop culture and pop "idols" or celebs or whatever you call them just "a part of pop culture".

Nothing could be more further from the truth.

Nothing can be "just" this or "just" that. By sayin "just" you're implying that those things are semi-random or benign...and it ain't. If it were benign, we wouldn't have this 50 years ago;

Now, before I go into this, we have to dissect people into two main groups for this argument. People like me (intelligent, perceptive, aware of all the bullshyt, trickery, glitz, blitz and facade of the materialistic capitalistic propaganda heavy world) and sub-people, dumb ass lazy c*nts who beg politicians for crumb handouts and hope politicians will provide them with money, and pop culture idols (music, sports, movies, etc) will give them meaning in life.

Sub-people are the big problem, and should be dealt with, but they won't ever be, because their stupidity feeds the system. And we know - stupidity is infinite. So that's that.

Now I'll skip all Beatles, Elvises, Michael Jacksons etc...................and go more recent.

think about how people say, even tongue in cheek, that Elvis or Tupac are not dead.. has a lot to do with how people think of ancient gods even jesus. Even King Arthur is supposed to 'come back'.

You speak rubbish. These demonic concepts have existed before religion and exist in places with no religion so how you can look at religion as Pandoras box for evil is quite on the ridiculous side because again, these forms of evil have always been.

Wars are fought for more reasons then religion, friend. They are fought for power. A man who garners the respect of a group of people finds a way to demonize others and in turn rally his base to attack this group and take from them something that can build him or his base up at their expense. Religion is a good tool to do this but without it, power hungry individuals would find other ways to do the same thing. They can blame others for their current economic state with a series of lies. Intelligent people can think of a variety of ways to demonize others for a war effort. I thought you knew better then this. I guess not.

That said, i feel your issue is really a personal one not so much a heartbreak over the current state of the world. Religion is not the problem. It is rich, greedy and stingily demonic beasts who want want and want.
