Or, you know, center the story around the the Four members of the Fantastic Four. Like they've beem doing. For more than half a century.:unimpressed: Stan and Kirby literally developed a cheat sheet on how FF should be done.

what you do on paper doesnt always translate on screen ie the avengers.. everyone gets shine but the "stars" were clearly Cap and Ironman

so miss me with the :unimpressed: goofy

the problem with the MSheU shyt is that the dorks you'd never wanna side with started that shyt after like 3 projects... and then Disney was like, "oh yeah, well watch this!" and fukkin made me side with the MSheU losers. it's overkill at this point and seems blatant. then again, the male heroes aren't exactly bringing it either these days.

The film would still focus on the 4, but Sue will be the focus of the story if the rumor is true.
similar to the Incredibles 1 and 2 where Mr.Incredible was the focus of 1 and Elastigirl was the focus of 2
I honestly thought Reed would be the focus since they can use his guilt to drive the story but :yeshrug:

I think it was that Feige only had a 10 year outline. After that, he didn't have anywhere else to take the story mapped out, so the suits decided to just throw everything out there. I called it back then.

But you also have to think, how many people, execs and actors, alike were going to commit upfront for another lengthy stay like that. The suits definitely weren't.

And also just a little bit of luck that offset the growing corporate greed. Towards the end of Infinity Saga they were coming out with a movie every 3 months... a precursor for what they're doing now with all these D+ shows and movies. But it worked better back then maybe bc initially the MCU was a slower concentrated rollout that allowed the core characters to cook and simmer with audiences. Now that core is mostly gone/exiting and everything new feels a bit scattered and microwaved.

Also, recall the og plan for Cap 3 was for it to just be a Cap/Bucky movie with no other Avengers... it wasn't until they heard of the BvS joint that they felt the need to match that energy... CA:CW went on to be the linchpin that arguably elevated SM:H, BP, Infinity War, etc. So even Infinity Saga was a bit... fluid. but certain things fell in place and the Russos stuck the landing.

It's funny, a few short years ago in the comics they more or less took a page from the Incredibles and aged up the 2 kids (Franklin and Val) to have them as functional teenage members of the F4. Basically was looking like the F6 for a minute.

As far as Sue... in truth, they've often struggled with what to do with her imo. Basically the Jean Grey dilemma of outside of being the hot wife that all her husband's frenemies want to fukk, there's not much going on there. Super powerful but basically mother hen/neglected housewife status, while her husband [who isn't that interesting either] at least gets to hang out/beef with interesting people or walk the moral tight rope with his experiments that lead to calamity.

Tho tbf, all four of them can feel like caricatures. Which is why who the actual focus is on isn't as important for this IP as having an overarching story that gets people invested in them, and not just in Doom or on Reed joining his Illuminati friends.

I think it's a really terrible idea to make Galactus the villain in the first movie like do a cameo but that's ridiculous to put him out that quick.

Yeah, you're right. Galactus is a character that needs to be built up across multiple phases.
Marvel can't afford to ruin Galactus by making him a one-off antagonist the same way Fox butchered Apocalypse.

Nothing would have been better than the end of GOTG3 in the after credits one of the two items happened (if they stayed together)

- their ship is in space and they fly past a planet. they had a shot of with folks talking and interacting and then suddenly they all stop and look up. It could have been a young Norrin Radd prior to Galactus coming.

- they went on new adventures together and suddenly at the end an object blasts at lightning speed past their ship. Everyone has this WTF look on their face and it turns out to be the Silver Surfer.

I think the best dynamic for the F4 (plus Val & Franklin) is to treat them like the Ninja Turtles. You have to highlight their family aspect, put them in a situation and let them play off one another. When they work in the comics, it's because it's family first, then the story comes next.

In the Tim Story movie, when it worked was when they focused on the relationships. Johnny & Thing of course was the best, then Ben & Reed....but they didn't do actually anything in the movie. There wasn't a mission or anything. In 2, there was a story, but the family stuff was thin.
