Why would Sue be the main character?
that is what john byrne did during his classic (and title saving) run.
he pulled sue to the front and made her the most powerful of the FF.
she went from "invisible girl" to "invisible woman" to all powerful "invisible PAWG"
sue stopped the hulk after all. none of the others could do that.
(john byrne + claremont did the same thing with the x-men. notice that in general x-women are more powerful than the x-men - storm. phoenix, polaris, binary, dazzler ... )

She is capable of generating and manipulating multiple psionic force fields simultaneously.
