Marvel Announces 6-Part Agents of SHIELD Spin-Off About Yo-Yo Rodriguez


he series stars Natalia Cordova-Buckley, the Inhuman agent with the ability to run faster than the eye can see before snapping back into place. The announce also makes it sound as though she will be accompanied by several other agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well.

According to Cordova-Buckley in a one-on-one interview, “Slingshot” will explore Yo-Yo’s adventures between Seasons 3 and 4. “In ‘Slingshot,’ we’re going to see a lot of her anger and her pain come out in regard to certain injustices that have been done to her and her family,” she explains. “But at the same time, she never loses her humanity. She doesn’t let the anger blind her.”

They could have done a Melinda May spin-off or take the time to catch up with Deathlok but Yo Yo makes no sense.

As for the Asian representation thing they might feel they have that covered with May and Daisy on agents of Shield, Wong in Dr. Strange and the Hand in Daredevil. They can do better in that area but the lack of Hispanic representation was more glaring.
