MARTIN SCORSESE DIRECTING SHUTTER ISLAND TV SHOW PILOT

HBO series is tentatively titled Ashecliffe.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese is reportedly attached to helm the TV series pilot for a show based off Shutter Island.

Paramount and HBO are teaming up for the Shutter Island show tentatively calledAshecliffe, according to Deadline. Scorsese, who directed the movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, will reportedly return to helm the pilot, with a script from Dennis Lehane, who wrote the bestselling novel that the show and film are based on.

Ashecliffe will take place before the events of the Shutter Island film, with the show's title also serving as the name of the mental hospital from the movie. The series will focus on the hospital's past.

As for Scorsese, this wouldn't be the first time he's directed a show for HBO. He helmed the pilot for Boardwalk Empire and is working on a rock 'n' roll project with Mick Jagger about a cocaine-fueled record executive in the 1970s for the premium cable network.

maybe I need to rewatch it, I remember enjoying it but I kinda saw the ending coming, it was overall forgettable as hell. let alone fukking with a flick like catch me if you can

They are doing the SHUTTER ISLAND series about events that took place before the movie. They say the series will revolve around the HOSPITAL (ASHECLIFF) from the movie.

I find it odd HBO would do this since they have THE KNICK (I know it's on Cinemax) but HBO owns Cinemax and their mandate is to do different type of shows on the two networks. Guess Scorsese was too hard to turn down.

It's my favorite Leo movie

Its been getting a lot of hate recently, but I've always enjoyed it. Probably not as much as you, but it was a cool flick.

I sil enjoy watching the movie whenever its on; the atmosphere in that film is all done.
