33 minutes in and she has been spitting nothing but hot fire. I really hope CNN gives her a town hall too.

I guess I gotta commend y’all who give airtime (your attention) to candidates that have absolutely no chance.
Silly response. You are the problem. You do realize, we the people can vote anyone in that we so well choose. I dont care what the democratic party or republican party puts out in front as the front runner. We can say NO, I want this lady right here because she's speaking the truth. You and I can do that. This mentality of "well that person aint going to win because he/she is an unknown." is a foolish way of thinking. It's actually a brainwashed way of thinking. anyone can win if you CHOOSE to vote for them. stop being part of the sheeple herd. Vote for people you believe in. Dont vote for people you're told to vote for. You can make anyone win.

Sanders had no chance and 4 years later moved the entire party to the left. I think it's time to pay attention to policy and not personality.
sanders was the only voice to pop out of a pretty much preordained, red carpet primary...2020 is not 2016, it's a crowded field full of a handful of people who have strong followings and a few who could be possible breakthroughs (beto, brown). folks like her have zero chance...:yeshrug: and this won't be a policy race, it will be a popularity/#'s election...pretty much every candidate is going to stand behind the same issues with a few being more radical in their take.

but like i said, it's nice that some of yall make the bandwidth to listen to these folks

You're entire description of 2020 is the description of 2016. But like I said, Sanders had no chance and moved the party left. Marianne has no chance, but I bet she forces the party to talk directly about reparations and the explicitly about the needs of black people.

Sanders had more of "chance" given there weren't 15 voices in the room, the groundwork was laid for Hillary, there weren't any legit challengers and he dared to speak up. That is not the same as 2020 where there are ~8 viable/notable candidates spanning centrist to progressive (amongst others), there's very little chance she offers something different that's not already covered by a bigger name. Bernie was both different and in a quieter room.

You're very optimistic if you think a legitimate "black platform" (not just general - better education, more jobs, criminal justice reform talking points) becomes a lynchpin conversation in a national election, especially one where the party is worried about bringing working class whites back in the fold. :manny:

Rather give it a try than not at all. If Williamson makes the debate stage, she not only will put the topic of reparations on the map, the other candidates will be questioned on it too.

I prefer that instead of what we got in 2016.

I think she can be useful if she can get on the debate stage - she's the only who can attack Kamala's record as a prosecutor without getting backlash because of her stance on reparations

Like I said in a previous thread - Kamala can be hit on so many issues from her time as a prosecutor but it's going to be very hard for all the white people in the primary running against her to successfully criticize her the way she deserves without getting backlash from wine moms and black brunch twitter. Corey Booker and Julian Castro are the only non whites I believe in the race and they for sure aren't gonna go there
