She will play the titular maiden who leads her people after the death of Robin Hood and becomes a legend herself.

Margot Robbie is officially Marian, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The Suicide Squad actress will star in the Sony drama centering on the maiden of Robin Hood folklore. Donald De Line, Amy Pascal and Robbie's LuckyChap Entertainment will produce from a script by Pete Barry. Rock Shaink is also producing through his Romark Entertainment.

Marian unfolds after the death of Robin Hood, the love of her life. The titular maiden then picks up his cause to lead her people into a pivotal war that will not only decide the fate of the kingdom, but also see her don the mantle of the man she loved. In the process, she rises as a legend herself.

Marian is one of a handful of Robin Hood-related projects in the works. Lionsgate's origin story starring Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx and Jamie Dornan is set for a March 2018 debut, and visual effects supervisor Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull will begin shooting a futuristic take later this year. A modern-day series called A Burglar's Guide to the City is also in the works from Alex Kurtzman and Justin Lin for CBS.

Robbie's upcoming films also include Miramax's figure skating biopic I, Tonya; Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad stand-alone Gotham City Sirens; Sony's live-action/CGI hybrid film Peter Rabbit; and Fox Searchlight’s A.A. Milne film on the origin of Winnie the Pooh. The actress and Lucky Chap are repped by Management 360, CAA and attorney Jeff Bernstein. Robbie is also repped by Aran Michael Management.

NYC black coffee tough guys aka the Stoozy Boys
So basically the Legend of Chun-Li....nah I'm good :hhh:

Whenever directors/writers decide to spin the narrative on its head by killing off and or not having the titular hero of the story, it all goes to shyt. No Ken and Ryu = Garbage (not that it was going to be good anyway). No Robin Hood? That's pretty much the only reason to watch the films....no one else is as interesting. That's like having a Three Musketeers movie without Dartagnan. :stopitslime:

I hope the buzz for Harley Quinn doesn't have her feeling herself. With Gotham sirens and now this it seems she's slowly taking a detour from the bombshell roles she was known for and going all girl powery

Not familiar with Barry's work, but if they play this right it might be huge. People keep sleeping on female heroine movies, but the last five years has proven there's a real market for it. I hope they get a decent director.

:comeon: So she's supposed to let herself get typecast based on her good looks. What happens when her good looks run out OR the next bombshell comes through. Only stupid women bank everything on their looks. There's always someone younger and prettier waiting in the wings. The smart ones diversify and hone the craft for the long run.

Yeah because those are the only 2 roles in Hollywood right?

fukk all these safe roles she's been doing since WoWS. She need to do a Basic Instinct remake or something more risky.
