Yes it’s rigged. The stock market definitely. Look at what happened with Sam Bankman-Fried. Dude came up with a billion dollar scam and literally had the chairman of the SEC co-signing and making personal visits.

One relatively low level guy did time for all that housing market fraud around 2008

Trump got away with fraud for at least 3 decades. They didn’t bother prosecuting until they had too.

That scumbag from Shark Tank Kevin O’Leary made his money off insider trading off the company he sold to. Guy walks around like he’s a financial genius.

EDIT: and when the scam gets exposed or the ponzi scheme collapses they cry to the government to bail them out

If the criminal justice system is rigged, I can't see how the economy isn't also rigged.

And the criminal justice system is definitely rigged. :francis:

That's not saying it's impossible to prosper or even have financial success through hard work and determination, but those who already have financial means definitely make things easier for themselves. And it is very possible to work hard and be determined and still not be successful.

Rigged in a sense of it's not fair or equal, sure, even predatory towards lower/middle income, 100%

but pre ordained, pre decided, no.

we have a lot of American myths and beliefs about meritocracy, and the idea that American doesn't have a class system that are a part of all this.

The Federal Reserve has a policy to kill wage growth over 3%. Let that sink in. Bank and corporate profits can go Moon Lambo, but worker wages? Oh Hell no!!!! So worker wages have been flat for the past 50 years, despite a constant rise in productivity, CEO compensation, and the general cost of living. When productivity loses its correlation to wages, what incentive is there to "Work harder"?
