A jogger in Colorado survived an attack by an 80-pound mountain lion in a remote wilderness — by killing the big cat with his bare hands.

The unidentified man in his early 30s was jogging on the West Ridge Trail at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space near Fort Collins Monday when he heard a noise coming from behind him, state wildlife officials said.
As he turned around to check, the young lion lunged at him, biting his face and wrist.

Because the man was just out for a jog, he didn’t have anything he could use as a weapon — except his “sheer will,” said Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokeswoman Rebecca Ferrell.

The trail runner fought tooth and nail to free himself from the beast, hitting it with a rock, wrestling with it and finally choking it with his hands, arms and feet, Ferrell told The Post.

The bloodied man then hiked a mile and a half out of the woods and drove himself to a hospital.

“The runner did everything he could to save his life,” said Mark Leslie, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Northeast Region manager. “In the event of a lion attack, you need to do anything in your power to fight back just as this gentleman did.”

Colorado Parks officials said they investigated and confirmed the jogger’s tale.

They found the body of a juvenile mountain lion on the trail in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near several of the jogger’s possessions about an hour after the attack.

By that time, other animals had started to feed on the carcass, Ferrell said.

A necropsy of the beast found that it was less than a year old and that it had been suffocated.

“We may be able to determine age a bit more tightly in the final reports,” officials said Tuesday. “The cat also tested negative for rabies, which is very welcome news.”

Officials said the runner is “doing well considering his ordeal.” He had puncture wounds on his head and arms, and bruises and cuts all over his body.

“Mountain lion attacks are not common in Colorado and it is unfortunate that the lion’s hunting instincts were triggered by the runner,” Ty Petersburg, area wildlife manager for Colorado Parks and Wildlife said.

“This could have had a very different outcome.”

Officials have closed Horsetooth Mountain Open Space until further notice.

Mountain lions are described as “calm, quiet and elusive” animals, but encounters with humans have increased in recent years because more people are moving into their habitats and using hiking and running trails in the area, according to information provided by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

Sixteen people have been injured and three killed by mountain lions in Colorado since 1990, officials said.

I had a company party last week and a 50+ woman (bout 200 lbs) kept trying to drag me on to the dance floor and I was ducking and dodging, weaving through the crowd, doing my best to avoid it at any cost. She kept coming up to me, smelling of bourbon and what not, asking why I DIDNT WANT TO DANCE.
Some coworkers were recording the whole thing, to put it on snapchat or whatever.
No lie, no fukking lie, my heart dropped when I saw this thread title I thought you had a video of me posted. And because I was a little drunk when it all went down, I don't have a clear memory of how I was acting, so the only reason it would make it to the coli is if I had goofed (which I don't remember doing) but damn man for a second if I didn't think I was internet infamous.
Thank god things went differently in this thread.
Unrelated to that, but related to this thread tho, are wild kittens really built like that? I bet any one of us would have lived through this "attack".
