Walking Dead Fan Shoots Girlfriend for Calling Show Unrealistic | Underwire | Wired.com
Jared Gurman is a fan of AMCs zombie drama The Walking Dead, but not the type of fan that AMC wants.
Thats because Gurman was arrested and charged with attempted murder in Long Island, after reportedly shooting his girlfriend in the back, with a .22 caliber rifle during an extended, heated argument about whether The Walking Dead, which isnt real, could actually come true and turn us all into brainless bottom-feeders. After that, shyt evidently got too real.
He felt very adamant, () explained Nassau County detective lieutenant Raymond Cote at a Tuesday press conference, according to NBC New York. There could be military mishap that would result in some sort of virus being released that could cause a terrible thing to happen.
According to police, the woman decided to drop Gurman off at his home rather than spend the night with him after their conversation about the TV show turned ugly. The argument then continued by text message over the evening, and became so heated that she returned to his house to check on him and found him waiting for her with a gun.
His unidentified girlfriend now has a shattered rib as well as a pierced lung and diaphragm. Shes currently in stable condition, but hopefully breaking up with him.
She felt it was ridiculous, Cote said. Hes passionate about it. And it escalated.
According to the New York Post, Gurman admitted to the crime after his arrest, telling police that his girlfriend had tried to help him with his feelings of paranoia and that I was just being an a$$hole.
Indeed.
