Anyone do this? I am considering it since it will be the easiest way to watch everything and go Organic. I don't trust Pizza Hut, Dominos, and Papa Johns.

Its basically the one bad food that I have been unable to cut :wow2: (I cut chinese fast food earlier this year)

Let me know brehs, I am willing to do the work.

It's easy, I buy Trader Joes whole wheat pizza dough, sauce, and cheese from there. Heat the dough up at 425 for like 10-12 minutes. Then I put the sauce, cheese, and oregano on and heat it for another 10-12 minutes. The times aren't an exact science I just check periodically to see where it's at. It's really easy. I'm pretty sure the cheese and sauce is organic but I'm not sure about the dough off hand.

I figured it would be easy enough. Its just the time involved, but I figure I can cook the damn thing myself in the time the delivery people finally make it out here anyway :snoop:

I was even thinking of making my own dough from scratch, but I am not sure its worth the savings :lupe:

Do this all the time when the calories allow it.

Low fat cheese with fattier meats and vice versa.

Make sure you butter the bottom of the cooking sheet or else the dough will stick and make a huge mess when you try and take the pizza off the sheet. I learned the hard way the first time I made it lol.

It will be all low fat cheese and low fat beef if I decide to put meat on it.

No way am I going with fatty meat if I am going to do all the work. It should taste better than the others as I put mad attention to detail when i cook :ahh:

I use the lowfat cheese from trader joes, some oregano, and some red pepper and it's really good.

So it was cooked...it was eaten. Pizza had 92% lean beef, turkey bacon, Jalapenos, crushed red pepper, cheese, organic sauce, and of course the crust.

So a couple of things:
You can taste the difference in quality of the meat immediately. I was amazed at how much different it tastes right off the jump.

It definitely tastes a whole lot lighter than Papa Johns, Dominos, and the rest of the bunch too.

The crust is not as fluffy as I wanted it to be, maybe because I overcooked it a little. After doing some research it seems like I might have to make my dough from scratch to achieve this. I eat pizza often, so maybe fixing up a couple to make 2x a week won't be too bad. I ain't kneading that shyt by hand tho, so a mixer will have to be bought.

Overall a positive experience and I don't feel like I was hit by a bus after eating it...I will still have to make some adjustments to get it just right. But we are getting there. The ingredients cost me about $22 to buy (+ butter to cover the foil), but I should be able to get 4 medium pizzas out of it....$5.50 per pie :ehh:

I now feel good about everything I eat :blessed:
