So it was cooked...it was eaten. Pizza had 92% lean beef, turkey bacon, Jalapenos, crushed red pepper, cheese, organic sauce, and of course the crust.
So a couple of things:
You can taste the difference in quality of the meat immediately. I was amazed at how much different it tastes right off the jump.
It definitely tastes a whole lot lighter than Papa Johns, Dominos, and the rest of the bunch too.
The crust is not as fluffy as I wanted it to be, maybe because I overcooked it a little. After doing some research it seems like I might have to make my dough from scratch to achieve this. I eat pizza often, so maybe fixing up a couple to make 2x a week won't be too bad. I ain't kneading that shyt by hand tho, so a mixer will have to be bought.
Overall a positive experience and I don't feel like I was hit by a bus after eating it...I will still have to make some adjustments to get it just right. But we are getting there. The ingredients cost me about $22 to buy (+ butter to cover the foil), but I should be able to get 4 medium pizzas out of it....$5.50 per pie
I now feel good about everything I eat
