Y'all should agree Brock and Roman are the two biggest stars in the company in the past 5 years, in terms of how WWE wants us to see them, evidenced by their booking and title reigns.
So instead of having them face each other in an epic "best of the best winner take all", in this scenario each one is going to defend a world title on each night. The purpose is to break a mid-tier or upper-tier talent that never really got a full push before. So someone like AJ Styles or Seth Rollins would not really qualify.
It should also be implied that WWE planned ahead and was already propping them up all year for these matches so they look like they belong. They would not even have to win, just having a storyline and losing to one of those two at the biggest event of the year gives a huge rub. Brands don't matter.

Brock vs Lashley:
You save the first Brock/Lashley singles match for WM, and have a nice clean finish with Brock putting him over. Both genetic freaks, MMA background, matchup that never been done before... If there's anyone on the E roster that would be convincing and deserving of getting the elusive clean win over Brock it's him. I know he's been positioned pretty well compared to others in the company, just thought they missed an easy WM feud layup with this, and really could have busted down the door with Lashley more than any other way
Roman vs. ????
I cant make up my mind who would have been good? Big E in a more serious character might have been good. Sometimes I think Riddle with boots on, and not acting like a total moronic 5 year old, could be huge over with the crowd.. Bron Breakker could have been fast tracked and got the miracle rookie run? I dunno.
