I use machines as a burn out during the end of my workout. Im already weak and swollen from free weights. Why take the risk of hurting myself but them shyts on myself. Hop on the machine and go in. You safe, its not worries about dropping the weights

My work outs goes as followed :

Mon-wed : free weights
Thursday cardio
Friday rest of light cardio and abs
Sat - full body work out all machine and some cable
Sunday - cardio and abs

To me I will always try to use machines because they force you to do the exercises the right way.

ya'll ever use them? or are free weights better
Depends. There's a time and place for machines.
For calves, I always use machines, whether it is seated or standing calf-raise machine.
Cable-row machine is good for lats.
Tricep pull down is as good as doing skull-crushers. Using the rope attachment is better if you want to utilize more stabilizing muscles in the movement. Otherwise, the regular V-bar is fine.

I personally like the leg press and leg curl machines so I incorporate them into my lower body workout. I like the versatility that free weights offer plus I can still do my workout at home without needing a bunch of bulky equipment.

Most of my lifts now are machine shyt

Chest is all free weight/body weight
Upper back is body weight/machines
Shoulders is free weight/machines

All your body knows is the load. Doesnt matter what it is. Whatever helps you hit your shyt effectively and how you like is personal choice

What's the difference between light cardio and cardio to you? :shaq2: I think i'm doing something wrong cuz i always run 2 miles before every workout ( i go 3 times a week). I'm seeing result, getting more toned but someone told me i should cut the cardio to twice a week and i'll still get the same result.

Well I do a mile before every work out it warms me up.

Light cardio it me is maybe 2 miles and stairs.
Then I do heavy abs.

@MMSex believe cardio should be done on a separate day from lifting.

He rather go hard 2 times a week just all cardio.

I can't do that I just can't lift cold I gotta do cardio.

Outside of a quick warm up, I would highly suggest doing cardio after you lift on days you do both.
