I could see French reaching out to Mase just to get some of that ism. French soaks game like a sponge, and he's not even low key about it. Dude doesn't give a damn about hip-hop rules, but somehow his love for the music seems genuine.

All those guys are influenced by Mase though. Mase's playful conversational tone wasn't respected back then. People would say he was "slow" and all types of ridiculousness. It wasn't like Cool J because Mase uses that tone 100%. Now there is zero shame in rapping in that tone.
