Great article.... been wanting to add karate into my arsenal for awhile, but the schools/"dojos" around my way are garbage. Maybe when I head east in a few years.

Jack Slack always does great break downs and he is very non bias. Often people who do break downs favor one style over another but he does a great job of staying neutral.

The only glaring weakness with karate stylist is the reliance on backwards movement. When someone continiously moves backwards in combat sports there back meets with the ropes or the cage eventually. And once their back is against the cage they cant leap backwards to avoid damage, which means their man mode of defense is now eliminated. Thats why guys who cut off the ring well, like pressure boxers give karate specialist hell. Machida has difficulties with people who cut off the ring, like Weidman did against him. Gunnar Nelson (connor Mcgregors stable mate) had trouble and lost to rick story because Story was able to cut off the ring. Im curious to see if Aldo can cut off the ring on Connor who uses backwards movement(primarily) as defense and to set up counters. :manny:
