This album confirmed he had lost a step. The album wasn't close to as bad as Lasers but at the same time it wasn't seeing his first 2 either.

Bought this album first day and listened to it a lot when it came out. But after about a few months I never listened again. With the exception of “Go to sleep” which wasn’t on the copy I bought. I probably was overrating it cause of how bad lasers and that mixtape that sounded like throwaways from lasers was. He made up for it with tetsuo, Drogas wave and DMIZ tho

Lupe my favorite rapper, but I don’t rock with NOTHING after food and liquor. My mans voice was so smooth and he didn’t have Pop stars singing on every hook back then.
How is someone your favorite rapper when you only like his first album out of like 8?

Cause he had 3 raw ass mixtapes before his Raw ass Album 4 projects and 60 songs all unskippable . Started hearing stuff like Paris and Tokyo ,Battle scars…and that other poppy Shyt I couldn’t F@ck with…him being a smart dumb nikka…urging nikkas to get vaccinated didn’t help…How is someone your favorite rapper when you only like his first album out of like 8?
Re-listening to this album, I never understood the hate it got.
Dont get me wrong, the album has some stinkers (heart doner straight to the trash bin)
But there’s some really strong tracks here. Strange Fruition (Lu was ahead of his time with the boycotting of the flag) hood now, put em up, lambo angels, around my way, bytch bad etc. if the tracks were cut down, this album would have gotten more praise imo. But this was during a time when the Lupe hate train was still strong.

He phoned in his delivery on half the songs and then there’s a lot of mid beats and bad hooks.
Definitely some strong shyt on here but inconsistent as an album and didn’t live up to its classic predecessor.
