I dont even understand how Lupe’s raps being “super complex” is a problem anyway. He’s a concious rapper, arent they SUPPOSED to challenge you mentally? Just because Kendrick lowered the bar because his lack of bars, doesnt mean rapping too good should be an issue.

I said this in the other thread. But if i want simple bars, ill put on rae sremmurd. I dont wanna hear simple bars from “concious” rappers like kendrick

He turned down machine generated hits until he turned into a raging cynic near the end
of his major label time. Lasers literally has a "Generated by a major label think tank" single on it.

Lupe's experience on a major is clearly vastly different from Kendrick Lamar's
and their musical output is indicative of it.

One artist's label had little to no faith in them recouping their investment in his project
so they slowly wrestled creative control from him, the other has proven himself three times
over and the label gradually backs off and lets him really do some shyt that isn't really happening
in either arena (Mainstream or Indie).

What r u talking about bruh he made the label money all his albums on atlantic sold

His stans are straight up pretentious condescending pseudo intellects who really believe
that you need a degree from harvard to "get" Lupe Fiasco. He prides himself on being "smart"
but regularly espouses the dumbest self informed bullshyt whenever given the chance to.

He's a great rapper, I genuinely believe that, but what I don't believe is that dude is some secretly
brilliant revolutionary.

He's Canibus with a bigger budget and more chances to completely and utterly fail.

**For the record, I like both Canibus and Lupe fiasco but the stannery on The Coli
is just :snoop:

Ur disrespecting him comparing lupe to cannibus and lupe did not fail where r yall grtting from the man has sold records

Lupe has always been a gimmick garbage rapper, who, like Kendrick, was sold to the kiddies who needed someone to believe in. An image-driven pop-aspiring rapper who revealed his true intentions with Lasers except Lasers failed, and K-pop's transition didn't. Lupe always had a borderline-trash voice, shytty offbeat flow, shytty writing, and shytty production (Soundtrakk gave him a few bangers tho). Lupe has been decent on a few songs. e.g. The Cool, and most importantly, the greatest verse he ever spit: Superstar (remix). Weirdos will pretend like what I'm saying isn't somewhat accurate but I experienced this shyt in real time. Superstar is Lupe's biggest hip hop hit and the last time he was actually relevant in hip hop. Even had the Hype Williams video and all that. "Show Goes On" was slightly bigger than "Superstar" on Billboard but was obviously pop and Lupe was on his way out by then - hip hop fans weren't playing that shyt at all. A few nerds were forcing Lupe into GOAT convos in 2007, right after Superstar came out. Luckily, magazines were too infatuated with selling Lil Wayne as GOAT and Kanye as "musical genius", so we never got bombarded with Lupe GOAT claims.

Not surprised to hear that Aesop Rock is his biggest inspiration. shytty influences lead to shytty artists. It's funny how he kept that hidden for years when he debuted. I always knew there was something super caccy about Lupe :umad: Nerdy anime influences and skateboard mentions felt caccy and suburb, but you couldn't really say those two things on its own are caccy. Listening to Aesop Rock on the regular and actually thinking he's dope - that's some cac shyt. Aesop Rock is utter :trash:

Kendrick Lamar is a great value Lupe mixed with great value Lil Wayne. It's hilarious that Ducktales stans avoid this, which is what makes the stan wars so funny. "Art of Peer Pressure" is obviously inspired by "Dumb It Down", among other things Kendrick shang-tsunged from Lupe (including the lame gangsta-turned-conscious angle). Kendrick has a worse voice, flow and writing than Lupe but has better production overall and 50x the push Lupe had.

Ultimately, Kendrick's got the better shytty discog even though Kendrick Lamar has never in his life spit anything close to Superstar remix. If Lupe has a problem with Ducktales Lafraud, he needs to see him with them bars or just stfu. Keep deleting tweets like a lil bytch

How did lasers fail when it was his highest selling album

Kendrick isn't a one line rapper, his creativity comes in the concepts

the reason why kendrick is a top rapper is because his music sounds good, which is the most important factor of being artist
you're shyt sound wack, it doesn't matter what you are saying, that is the fact

the fact he can tell a story using a metaphor all while making it radio friendly prove he is top tier, because there's no other artist out right now that can do that

thats just the facts

his hooks stand out, thats why he's played on radio all day

that loyalty song is better than anything lupe has ever made

and "Love" is great too:wow:

Kendrick has so many great RECORDS,far better emcee than Lupe.

But the question now is will Kendrick go ahead and eat Lupe up:jbhmm:? At some point you have to prove a point and make an example of someone. Some would argue Big Sean was the example, but I don't have much respect for Big Sean so I can't agree.
