I would have less issues with the trade if Harrison actually talked to other teams and saw AD was the best piece he can get for Luka. I know Luka's a huge megastar but it's not unheard of to have them still be shipped out. But considering he himself said he only talked to the Lakers, why would you restrict yourself like that :pachaha:

How is trading the franchise cornerstone that just lead your team to the NBA finals a win now move? What has AD done as the number one option? A second round exit with the Pelicans?

That 2025 Atlanta pick can possibly get you Cooper Flagg. Hawks just lost seven straight and are selling a lot of their roster at the deadline
There was a time when possibly getting Andrew Wiggins was exciting. I guess I just see things differently :manny:

And with no one else, breh you already know it's some bullshyt. Always is. The NBA sometimes is behind this. Remember the KP trade. They wanted to get Luka a star to play with. Didn't work out but they tried. These deals always are just between the two teams and the prices is significantly lower than the market value, just know this is the NBA being a business. Nothing more, nothing less.

If Luka is on the open market, the Lakers would never be able to get him.
Ok but that is a different convo. I was responding to you talking like AD was offered.

That Atlanta pick can literally change if Atlanta addresses the lost of JJ in the trade market. You act like Atlanta can't make moves. They got no PFs right now that are NBA level since the JJ injury. That can easily be fixed without even trading a 1st. You can trade a couple of 2nd to fix that issue.

And who is the Wiggins in this scenario?:skip:

And Wiggins stopped being an "exciting" pickup when Jimmy hoed him in Minny, he helped the Dubs get one by being a nice 2 way guy but he been stopped being considered a cornerstone type of franchise player way before that.

You keep running from the point that Luka on the open market would never have this deal as an option. It would be way better deals available. This was an NBA business deal.
No I keep running to ask what these better deals are and so far all I have gotten is the future, a bunch of picks and maybe, not even guaranteed, a nikka that's in college now.

I think this is the issue. I am talking proven, actual players and it appears that everyone else is talking possibilities.

I mean the reality is if the Mavs truly cared about winning now they wouldn’t have traded the guy that’s led them to two deep playoff runs in the last 3 years for a player that’s 7 years older and who has a much worse track record as a #1

Lets call it what it is

It would have been Chet, Jalen, five unprotected 1sts, a lot of pick swaps. It would have been an elite deal.

This is not an elite deal. I would rather Chet than AD
Jalen than AD
OKC draft stash than AD
shyt, combine that shyt, fukk! Dallas ain't got no worries and even then, I would still think Dallas shouldn't trade Luka. You don't trade those those ones.

If you would have switched Luka name in this deal for Jimmy Butler. I would think it was a good deal. If you switch Luka name with Chet, I would think it's a horrendous deal for OKC. Luka though, this is one of the worst deals ever. If not ever.

EXACTLY

How has AD, who has only won ONE playoff series as a number one, and Kyrie, who has done NOTHING but hitch his ride to #1 options and reap the benefits, supposed to take you to the finals??? :mindblown:

This is the worst deal ever. No way around it. It is horrendous but every time I dive deep, it's even worse than it was before. It only makes sense from a business perspective for the NBA and the NBA has signed a new deal. They need their media partners happy.

I don't see the positive for Dallas.
