Homie, the Chuck E Cheese on Michigan Ave in Dearborn had this shyt tucked away in corner, where no one could see it. I was at a birthday party, wasting coin after coin on Off Road and skeeball when this piff was there the whole time.
I wanted to grab the closest CEC associate and hit him with the

gi joe, had more reoccurring new episodes daily than any other cartoon.
originally, gi joe was the best after school cartoon of all time, till transformers.
even then,...transformers did not get consistently better than the joes till around jetfire and the skybots debuted.
leading up to the movie,...
which killed everything.
yet, and still before all that.
gi joe, still has the best black main character of our gen in roadblock.
plus, roadblock blind carrying cobra commander.
is still the best hof,...badguy buddies up to the babyface for a common cause moment in our gen or possibly ever.
gi joe,..was the first cartoon that made you care about a blackman.
plus know he was the toughest sumbytch in cartoon existence.
past that,...
flint and the original halle berry before we knew who halle bery was, lady jay.
those were my all time favorite characters, right behind rick hunter.
i am still crazy about flint and lady jay.
i wish halle berry could play lady jay in the movie.

My fave 2 besides the big name "Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow" I owned (toys) were Low Light, and Shock Wave
low light and snake eyes were my favorite good guy toys, and he was a g in the cartoon.

cops had the best black guy as a leader in cartoon history, for that era in our gen.
i can give you that.
past that,.....cops was not the definitive episodic domestic cartoon that gi joe was.
incredible toys, action figures and vehicles with no question.
yet,...cops got to be on tv and have licensed toys because of gi joe.
gi joe was the mainstream cartoon that pretty much created the boom for great domestic licensed cartoons.
plus created the very draw for other cartoon and toy companies.
to try to find a cartoon to license and re-edit for the mother's groups.
or try to find a toy line to create a cartoon to license.
that would be approved by the mother's group.
or escape their radar, because the content of the cartoon had redeeming qualities.
if not for gi joe......
in our gen and especially in chicago...
most cartoons would not have ever had a mainstream channel to even be shown or an outlet.
i found out about episodic cartoons from visiting baltimore.
in baltimore, they showed speed racer, and that was my first favorite to die for cartoon and episodic character with no actual toys, ever.
yet, for kids in chicago.....
when gi joe finally came on.
it created the ability for cartoons to come on all the lower level auxilliary channels.
ulysses 2010 : was not generally known by most kids because it came on to early.
captain harlock : was not generally known by most kids in chicago.
all because it came on to early as well.
gi joe, is the cartoon that when it debuted on wgn.
it made that mainstream boom for kids in chicago and other tv stations to get better cartoons.
gi joe, is what made channel sixty, soon to become channel fifty kill the game and show robotech in the morning.
so, it did not compete with gi joe.
captain harlock was moved closer to robotech's airing time from 5 am to 530 to 6.
gi joe was the catalyst in chicago that allowed all these cartoons to get shown.
