It's still illegal to grow hemp in the United States :bryan:

Does any one plant have more uses than Cannabis? Hemp alone has thousands of uses (like making materials, high protein content of hemp seeds, making fuel and tons more) but then you think about the medicinal capability and range the psychoactive cannabis has, its truly gods gift brehs, humans just happen to have cannabinoid and thc receptors :ahh:

Fuel? :mjpls:

Uh-oh....if this catches on, hemp will really be banned soon. Can't have those oil companies having a REAL alternate fuel option.

thats why marijuana was made illegal to begin with, would've had the lumber industry looking :flabbynsick:

with the invention of the decorticator it became much easier to harvest than lumber and it grows much quicker with a larger yield.

Legalizing cannabis will change the dynamic of the economy all over the world. The powers that be can't have that happen, no matter how much it will benefit the greater good.

the 'lumber industry' wood just start growing hemp. like most things it would be dominated by whoever has the money and other resources (land, machines, trucks, distribution, etc)

the same with cigarette companies. it would be quick and easy for them to dominate the 'marijuana cigarette' market

They have already patented (or copyrighted..since I don't think you can patent a plant) many popular marijuana strains..

William randolph hearst invested heavily into the lumber industry and used his magazines and news papers to launch a smear campaign against marijuana :to:

though there was a combination of things that ultimately made it illegal, from an ambitious Narcotics agent, to racism

President Obama's store sells hemp from Communist China while hemp farming in America remains criminalized

President Obama's store sells hemp from Communist China while hemp farming in America remains criminalized

Sunday, August 05, 2012
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

(NaturalNews) While America's economy is suffering staggering losses in jobs and debt, the Obama administration is creating jobs for Chinese workers by selling hemp scarves on its website -- even while industrialized hemp remains illegal for U.S. farmers to grow!

The "Monique Pean" scarf runs $95 on BarackObama.com (http://store.barackobama.com/monique-pean.html), and is described as:

Designed by Monique Pean. Circle scarf made of 45% certified organic cotton / 55% hemp, measures 42'' L X 21'' W. Made in the USA.

Here's a screen shot of the item, in case they try to remove it from their store:
http://www.naturalnews.com/gallery/articles/Barack_Obama_Hemp_Scarf.j...

It may be "made in the USA," but the hemp it uses is imported from nations like China because under the Obama administration, industrial hemp remains illegal to grow in the USA.

The hemp hypocrisy
Thanks to Obama, anyone who tries to grow hemp will be raided at gunpoint by U.S. federal agents, prosecuted for felony crimes and thrown in prison.

So why is it okay for Barack Obama to buy industrial hemp grown in China, but keep industrial hemp criminalized in America?

Robert Scott Bell asked this question on the August 2, 2012 broadcast of the Robert Scott Bell Show. Download the MP3 here:
NaturalNews Radio - The Robert Scott Bell Show Archive

How to really create more jobs in America: LEGALIZE HEMP
If Obama really wanted to create jobs and lift America's economy, he could simply issue an executive order declaring all industrial hemp to be legal for growing and selling in America.

I'm not saying I agree with the abuse of power of the President invoking executive orders (and bypassing Congress), but if Obama is going to use executive orders, he could use them to restore freedom by legalize farming and helping create industrial hemp jobs in America.

But Obama refuses to do this. While more and more farmers declare bankruptcy and the economic backbone of America is shattered, he buys hemp from China instead of allowing American farmers to grow it right at home!

While Obama leaves U.S. farmers to be crushed under agricultural bankruptcy, U.S. Senator Ron Wyden is actually trying to do something to restore economic abundance to America's farmers. He, along with U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, is working to legalizing industrial hemp farming. As NaturalNews has reported:

"The only thing standing in the way of taking advantage of this very profitable crop is a lingering misunderstanding about its use," said Wyden, "and the amendment that I have filed on this issue will end a ridiculous regulation once and for all." (http://www.naturalnews.com/036231_Ron_Wyden_industrial_hemp_decrimina...)

Rep. Ron Paul has also sponsored H.R. 1831: The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011. Read the full text of that bill here: Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011 (H.R. 1831) - GovTrack.us

BlacklistedNews.com has covered both legislative efforts in a summary posted here:

Wanna rebuild America? Hemp is the answer!
"In 1916, the U.S. Government predicted that by the 1940s all paper would come from hemp and that no more trees need to be cut down. Government studies report that 1 acre of hemp equals 4.1 acres of trees." -- the U.S. Department of Agriculture

Hemp can be used to manufacture all these things (and more):

• Shoes
• Clothing
• Paper
• Car parts (such as bumpers)
• Houses
• Bicycle frames
• Cosmetics
• Backpacks
• Flags
• Rope
• Food packaging
• Omega-3 oil supplements
• Protein supplements
• Fuel for cars
• Boats
• Lamps and decorations
• Skate boards

If industrial hemp were legalized, all these things could be made in America!

So why is Barack Obama's store making money from selling hemp scarves using hemp from China and other countries? Apparently because he favors China's economy over the U.S. economy!

Hey, Obama... Maybe instead of crushing America's economy, stripping away our liberties and freedoms, and seizing control over U.S. farms (http://www.naturalnews.com/035301_Obama_executive_orders_food_supply....), you should stop and think about actually helping America's farmers for real hope and change: Legalizing industrial hemp. It's time to end the prohibition against hemp farming in America.

Spread the word. Share this story. Government needs to get out of the way and stop criminalizing a safe, profitable and sustainable crop that could lead America's farmers into a whole new era of economic abundance.

Ummm....... did you happen to watch any of the brief videos provided to you in this thread???? Did you not see the highlighted uses for industrial hemp??

Last time I checked, when it comes to useing hemp for paper, 4 acres of timberland is equal to one acre of hemp. Plus you can probably reharvest it, more than once in the same year.

Nonetheless....what do you consider substantial???? :what:
