Eazy-E was originally supposed to be on the Bone Thugs album East 1999 Eternal on a song called Mr. Bill Collector. He recorded an entire verse and everything. Eazy was touring with the Bone Thugs for a period and then had them stay in a mansion in Cali to keep them out of trouble. Bone went weeks without hearing from Eazy, who was busy firing Jerry Heller and beginning to get sick from AIDS. The Bone Thugs were running out of money for food and Eazy was their only lifeline. Feeling betrayed, they went into the studio and erased his verse.
For anyone wondering, eventually Bone Thugs got ahold of Eazy and they realized the whole thing was a misunderstanding. Eazy viewed Bone Thugs as the future of Ruthless and potentially bigger than NWA, he didn't intend to leave them hanging like that. They hung out with him that one last time and then Eazy died a month later.
As DJ Uneek explains in the first video, Eazy's vocals were straight up deleted without making a backup first. DJ Uneek hadn't arrived at the studio yet and there was a substitute engineer that day. Bone Thugs told the sub to wipe the verse and she did. DJ Uneek would have stored the vocals, and the main engineer would have stored the vocals, but the sub did exactly what the Bone Thugs asked. And thus, Eazy E did not make it onto East 1999 Eternal.
And yet a few years ago some snippets emerged. It seems that someone made a copy of the OG song before the source vocals were deleted. Where could this have come from? One possibility is Eazy E's bodyguard. Who knows how many people had copies?
Anyway it seems that Ruthless Propaganda now has the full LQ version of the song and is going to be leaking it on Youtube for Eazy-E day. Eazy E leaks are basically not a thing so this is pretty awesome. We're really getting a new Eazy E verse in 2024!!!
