Just finished Fargo season 1 so perhaps it's unfair on Anton Chigurh because Malvo os fresher in my head but to me Malvo was way more of a menance.

Chigurh was terrifying too but honestly to me the guy was only terrifying due to his homicidal nature (which Malvo had too). Otherwise, I really think he was quite lucky to make it to the end of the movie. Didn't really seem to do much planning and would just walk in shooting.

Malvo on the other hand was a charismatic genius on top of being a psycopath. The dude passed himself off as a dentist for six whole months. Got engaged and everything just for a job and merked his "fiance" with no hesitation just because, "well, fukk it." The guy genuinely seemed like he couldn't be stopped. A one man army who had a whole town and the FBI shook.:sadcam:

What fukks with me the most is that he seems to have very little motive for what he does besides the joy he gets from fukking with people. There were points where I legit thought dude was the devil. So for me, he takes it :picard:

I'm gonn have to see no country for old men again but yeah Malvo passed as a dentist all that time and just threw it away like it was nothing. :gucci:
Fiance got bushed on a whim:gucci:
Absolutely no rhyme or reason to him. How do you even track that down or profile him:dwillhuh:

there are lorne malvos walking among us but most of us don't know who they are e.g. your father, mother, sister, brother, friend, etc.
nothing scarier than a scale 30 psychopath who is a genius

Malvo wasn’t all that to me. Always found V. M. Varga way spookier, sinister in the way he operated. The bulimia and them infected gums that he always seemed to pick at in each episode made him repulsive as hell.

His approach may not be as badass as Malvo’s, but I couldn’t help but feel his omnipresence throughout the season. Dude was the ultimate modern villain who could kill you as a master at the information game. The scary part is that there are plenty of Vargas lurking in the real world. :picard:

I get the comparison. Malvo and Chigurh are both agents of chaos who are ultimately brought down a peg to remind themselves that they are human at the end of the day. I’ll still take Anton though because I think he understood that he wasn’t immune to the randomness of the universe and he did manage to walk away with his life intact.

Lowkey, I'd argue Lester Nygaard is the best villain in the Fargo universe
