ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Woody Johnson is a devoted owner who rarely misses a game, but he will not be in attendance Sunday at Ralph Wilson Stadium for the Jets' final game.
His absence, no doubt, will fuel the speculation about possible firings. After the Monday night debacle in Tennessee two weeks ago, Johnson declined to speak with reporters, saying he preferred to wait until after the season.
Sources say Johnson hasn't been seen around the team facility the last two weeks, raising the anxiety level among the football staff and front office. Rex Ryan and GM Mike Tannenbaum haven't received any assurances from Johnson, a source said.
It's possible Johnson will address the media Monday to comment on the season and possible moves.
