If Jokic played in the 80s or 90s he likely wouldn't be allowed to play the style he's playing now.

Thats true. But he would still kill as a back to the basket big with range and on the boards. He would destroy squads passing out of non zone double teams as well.

Cats should appreciate his game more as he represents everything posters on here claim they want to see.

Doesn’t take a bunch of 3s, plays out of the post, shoots midrange jumpers, is physical…He is a player for the true fan of hoops

Doesn’t take games off, isn’t trying to team up with everybody, isn’t getting coaches fired left and right.

Yes he would

You realize Magic was 6’8” and playing that way In the 1980s.

someone his size was a power forward back then

I really wish Jokic had an all star level wing player with him. He would put up even more elite number.

He's one of the few players I'd like to see take more 3s. But overall he's on the short short list of GOAT offensive players at this point.

TYRONE GA!
Dude had these skills as a guard until his growth spurt. But isn't afraid to use his size in the paint either.

Sabonis 2.0 if Sabonis came to the NBA when he should have back in the mid 80s.

He’s not that good a three point shooter historically, so I get it.

He is blacking out so far this year tho.
It could be completely untrue but I think part of what hurts his percentage is he's not afraid to take them at the end of the shot clock and his shooting seems to get worse when he's tired from having to do too much. At the same time he's so good at everything offensively that it would be bailing the D out if he's shooting those more.

His shooting hurt them against Minnesota last year. He was so bad that he stopped taking them .
