Just a question that I’m sure plenty of us have thought about or encountered a situation related to long distance relationships.

For it to work I think ye need to be really really love and be committed to each other and your relationship. Like you've gotta put in extra effort for it to work. And it couldn't be easy because I know there'll be times when you just wanna be around them and sometimes phone calls and messages just don't cut it.... And of of there's major timezone difference.... Makes things that little bit harder. I think it's easier to be with someone more accessible to you...

What if it’s a two hour distance? Not like a couple of states away type distance?

For it to work you need an end goal, say s/he's away for school, military and or business purposes. You have a time frame and a idea of when he/she will return. When it's up in the air, it makes it incredibly difficult.

I really enjoyed your answer. This definitely applies to the situation. He is going away for an apprenticeship about two hrs away from me. I’m going to nursing school. So the time frame is there and the school/business part.

That’s the ideal type of long distance, it’s doable, you really have to adjust to driving (if you want to save money) or be comfortable with crowded transist (flights, trains, busses) that’s the physical aspect

Like another person said tho, at a distance y’all need to really love each other and every now and then talk about the status of the relationship, because you’ll spend so much time apart, you have no choice but to somewhat monitor each other and your feelings because the communication has to be increased to bridge the distance gap

Its doable, but its not easy and requires more than just being in and enjoy a relationship. It's expensive.

being in a casual long distance relationship is just silly and a waste of time. Also some people aren't and some people are built for it.

If you don't know how to be alone, not have sex all the time or enjoy time with just yourself you might not want to do it.

Its almost like being married but without the intimacy of marriage. It requires a lot of trust and knowing that the person is dedicated to you.

Basically its hard, but anything worth having is hard.

Relationship these day's are way to casual anyway. In a twist of things LD might be the ultimate test of weather you and your partner are ready for the long term.

If you don't have a end goal like moving together and or marriage its pretty pointless and will lead to headache and heartache.
