not surprising considering they can also activate your integrated webcam. basically anything with an internet connection and a mic/cam can be broadcasting at any time without you knowing it

Haven't called your Big Brother lately? Don't worry: If you have an Android phone, he may have heard all your conversations anyway. The FBI is now so good at electronic hacking that it allegedly can commandeer smartphones running Google's Android software and remotely activate their microphones without the user knowing. The allegation was made by the Wall Street Journal on Friday, and while the paper says the bureau uses these techniques only under court orders, the idea of cellphones being used as secret government listening devices has the Internet majorly creeped out.

Android lost.

I'm pretty sure Apple isn't too far behind though. I feel like theirs wayyy to many people for them to monitor and listen to everyone, I think you gotta give them a reason for them to watch you, like look up suspicious words. But then again...

I could be wrong :sadcam:

iphone was probably first. forget next.

lol.

i told yall this in those xbox one threads when people start calling it snitch box cause of the kinect. i said. what difference does it make, when anyone not just the govvy can EASILY hack into your laptop camera/mic, cell phone mic/cam, tablet cam, mic. people just dont do it a lot because there's no money to be made doing it. you can do it just to bother people. or stalk someone but beyond that. thats about it. so this is the reason you dont see it happening to all of us often. so this isnt news to me.

Buy android brehs.

This will NOT happen with Windows Phone or IOS because the API of the entire OS isn't public like Android.

Anyone still using Android phones at this point deserve whatever virus or spyware gets on their phone

FBI hack yielded 12 million iPhone and iPad IDs, Anonymous claims
Summary: Hackers associated with Anonymous have published a million unique device identifiers from Apple devices, claiming they were taken from an FBI computer. The alleged hack was intended to publicize the existence of some kind of secret FBI tracking project.

NTM, Microsoft and Windows... simply gives away user information to the NSA on all of their products

NTM, the UDI's are given away at will - so imagine what else is stolen or retried.

Also, there are tracking devices 'for emergency purposes on all phones.

Also, most of the popular apps - store and give away you most personal intimate information - like Gmail, Facebook, etc.

but any virus or certain apps can give the FBI or whoever a window to activate your microphone and cameras.
