would you consider her R&B or just a ballad singer like Celine Dion? I'm willing to fall back :yeshrug:

kind of a mixture of both, but she just falls under the classic female "singer/songwriter" thing more than anything. You got Sam Smith and Winehouse in there too. I disagree with that. Its tough to call a lot of British artists culture vultures; they value artistry over there more than we do here. These people (adele, winehouse, etc...) grew up listening to a lot of different shyt and truly value and are inspired by it. Compared to someone like Post Malone... well.. you know

that shyt was one of the biggest culture vulture acts in the history of music, not only he was stealing from hip hop but he was also stealing from the rock music as well. In fact the whole rap-rock shyt was corny and stolen from both genres.

there are lots of culture vultures, like action bronson biting off ghostface, shyt even when we go to the 80s when artists were more creative you still got someone like beastie boys sounding like run dmc...

That Post Malone project really left a bad taste in my mouth.. Who is behind this dude? He's getting a serious push and the music just isn't there outside of White Iverson

Even the title of that song is rubbing me wrong in hindsight

yeah I feel like such a hater when I think about Post Malone but I really can't get with the dude at all. Good music is good music and there doesn't have to be a "got it from the mud" back story behind everyone for good music to happen, but everything about Post Malone feels so forced. even one of his interview went like

"so how did White Iverson come about?"

Post: "well, I was living in LA with the same producers who have done stuff for Iggy Azala, 2 Chainz, Diplo, etc.. on some homie shyt and the song just kinda came together in one day.."

"so what were you doing the years before that?"

Post ":mjpls:"

action bronson grew up in queens (the most non-segregated, racially diverse county in the whole country) listening to wu-tang, in an income-based housing development around graff writers and dudes who made their living off of boosting north faces and polo. its no wonder the dude is influenced by the Wu and what he was around. can't say there is a culture vulture thing about him, but people on here stay hating because he's white. that's facts.
