"One lucky Lil Wayne fan may soon fine themselves in possession of a piece of his musical history, if they’re willing to shell out its hefty $5 million price.

According to TMZ, online memorabilia site Moments In Time fought for five years to prove that they were legally entitled to sell the notebook, which dates back to Weezy’s earliest days as a member of the Hot Boys in the 90s.

The platform originally listed the notebook in 2019, on behalf of a man who claimed to have found Lil Wayne’s handwritten lyrics in a car that used to belong to Cash Money Records. Once the item was listed, however, the multi-platinum rapper hit the company with a cease and desist, demanding that the notebook be returned to him.

In February, Judge Kern A. Reese of the Civil District Court of Orleans Parish in Louisiana ruled that Moments In Time did have all rights to cell the notebook, per a legal document published on the sale page.

The notebook’s current price is 20 times more than its original listing price of $250,000.

While a piece of his Hot Boys history is up for grabs, Lil Wayne failed to make history with his former group as expected earlier this summer. He later touched on his surprising absence from the Cash Money reunion at Essence Festival in early July.

Weezy performed at the New Orleans festival, he was missing from the Cash Money 30-year anniversary celebration which included appearances from Birdman, Mannie Fresh and fellow Hot Boys Juvenile and B.G.

In a lengthy video shared on Instagram on Sunday (July 7), the “A Milli” hitmaker addressed his lack of participation and the disappointment that many fans felt afterwards.

“Funny story: I got hit up by somebody, somebody text me. I guess they had been at the show too long or something and they said, ‘You wrong. You know you should have came out. You wrong, Wayne. You had all these fukking fans out here. You didn’t come. You know you should have,’” he said.

Wayne then revealed his response to the message, coyly saying: “I’m like, ‘What you talking about? The afterparty or something?’”

The Young Money boss didn’t explictly mention Birdman or his former labelmates, but did shout out “all the artists that performed” at Essence Festival."
