First thing first:

I saw this album was 10 tracks long, expected to get 25 minutes and run through it twice on the way home from work.

But nah, these is SONG songs, not them lil 1:30 minute shyts artists use to boost streams. This shyt damn near clocks in at 45 minutes.

2. I will never stop going on about this girl's PHENOMENAL ass pen game. She reminds me SO MUCH of Nas (but not like Droog), but whereas Nas can perfectly describe what he's seen, what's going on around him and what he wanna sees, Simbi perfectly describes whats going on in her head. No gritty street tales and no thotting it up (sad to say, this prolly turns off a lot of folks). Just pure normal person inflection and introspection. Definitely my GOAT female MC, top 10 GOAT. Yes, I feel just that strongly about it.

3. GREY Area was a Nighttime album, Sometimes I Might Be An Introvert was a Daytime album. This feels like a.... like you chilling on Sunday getting high with nothing to do Album? Sit on the couch and think about life Album. relax by yourself with your feet up Album. Lotta choir and "spiritual" overtones. This will prolly replace No-Name's "Telefone" as my sunday cleaning listen, to detox after I been listening to gun busting, drug selling and angsty depression music all week. (I haven't listened to Telefone since the 2020 riots/protests, btw)

4. I need to go back and listen again so I can say which songs are the weak ones (the one I thought I didn't like... I DID! I think it was "Sideways", but I didn't skip anything. I be listening in the car. No time to look at song titles. She got a few purely lyrical exercise songs on here, a few verses that hit me on a personal level. I swear she got some songs with like 3 32 bar verses.

I'm giving this a 4.5/5 off first listen. Not as good as SIMBI (that's a 4.75/5, bumped up .25 after repeated listens), but you can tell these ain't throwaway tracks. Simbi always got something to say. I'm here to listen.

I need to listen to this.

I can't front, I really like Simz as a rapper and as an artist overall, but I find it hard at times to connect to entire Simz albums.

But I'll go into this with an open mind as always
