:yeshrug: Might be reaching but isn't improving your cardio/stamina give you the stamina to lift weights for longer periods of time?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: It depends.

In summary: Run to get better at running. Lift weights to get better at lifting weights.

Well I agree with all that It all depends upon you and for this, i have talked with lot of people who are working as trainers at and they say that it is very difficult to run after getting workout because of the fact that you consume much of your stamina and energy in lifting weight , so there is no room for other exercise such as running that is why people who try do running after workout are tired . Moreover, after lifting weight your body needs rest , So i do not think that there is a need of running after workout at Gym . I hope some people would agree with me and some might not but this is based on discussion with trainers and health experts as well .

I strongly agree...my runs after lifting are way worse than my lifhts after running. I run 2mi to my gym, lift, and run back now...i am not tired from the original run. In fact i'm well warmed up and loose...

On the flip side, if i lift hard, and run, i cramp up especially in my calves...its easier to come up limp and cramp if you go from flat, to lift, then run.

i run before lifting. 1.5-2 miles. High intensity.

I prefer to run before. I dont get too tired to lift. Lifting vs running feels different to my system so i dont feel taxed. if you do, your body will adjust after a week or two anyway.

Feels great. My body/heart feels warm and loose :lift:

And i lift at high intensity, no more than 3-5 reps, heavy.

Running afterwards is what sucks. My body is tight from lifting, and running i feel like im liable to strain/tear something, because my form isnt solid.

advice: run before

I echo this sentiment. Your body moved blood/oxygen/protiens to your freshly strained muscles to rebuild and repair....running after is counterintuitive and youre likely to pull a calf or something.

On the flipside, running before lifting gets your heart and blood pumping, and oxygen moving efficiently. Much better idea.
