i strength train first and then swim.
but how much are you talking about swimming and are you new to it? if you're not an avid swimmer already your muscles will be spent after doing laps. so you should probably lift first....

This. I hopped in the pool first one time because I saw a lane was open and don't like having to share lanes. Went and did some lifting, and my whole body felt :flabbynsick:. Save that for after, like any other cardio.

Lift first. You lose a lot of energy in water (includes Sauna, steam rooms)and this will affect your lifting.

:dwillhuh: really? i sauna to warm my body up before i lift. im inthere for about 2-5 minutes depending on my day before then. alot of the time i feel :ahh: after i get out.

then i steam after my work out for another :ahh: feeling

2-5 minutes isn't that long so that sounds ok for a brief warm up. However, try normal muscle stretches next time and then go straight to pumping weights, you will notice the difference in power/energy levels.

In hot yoga, its not so much the routines that makes it feel like a workout, its the room conditions.
Also, the sauna mainly dehydrates you, far more than a 5 minutes run on a treadmill and u need that hydration for good weight lifting.
