...and quite possibly my favorite film in YEARS.

I reserve the right to change this claim after viewing 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'Django Unchained', 'The Impossible' and 'Les Miserables'....but despite pretty high expectations for each of those....:whoo: It will be a hell of a film if it passes 'Pi'

I went in with modest expectations, and intentionally knew as little about the film and story as possible.

And it floored me. I saw it Saturday night...haven't stopped thinking about it since. The ending not only inspires intense debate and discussion as it relates to the film, but is a rare case where it leads to debate about it's meaning beyond the story.

The CGI is fantastic, and overall the film is the best use of 3D I've ever seen. I know most people hate the concept of 3D, and I'm essentially in agreement, but this film looks SO fukkING GOOD :noah:

The story is interesting, fascinating and at times deeply emotional. It's brilliantly acted by almost everyone involved, and Irrfan Kahn is always great.

I feel like doing a full write up on my thoughts...but it'd probably go wasted on this site, so f it :heh:

I guess if anyone else has seen it we can discuss spoilers in here too....but please use the tags because I'd have hated to have this film spoiled for me.

*apologies to Mastermind's thread already in existence....but I couldn't not make my own

Of those you listed, I seen Django and it's not movie of the year quality. There were a lot of edits that had me lookin at the movie like :beli:

It's good though. Wish a screener was out so I could watch it again cause I'm sure there's things I missed just cause it's QT.

As for Zero Dark Thirty...I dunno breh. Knowing how Hollywood is and seeing as this is a clear cut military propaganda flick it will probably be a shoe in for MOTY but quality wise it's probably not that good. I just watched Looper ( :ehh: )and I'm about to watch ZD30 next.

Life of Pi is one of the best films I've ever seen

If The White Tiger ever gets pass developmental stages, I want either Ang Lee or Danny Boyle to direct it.
