...and quite possibly my favorite film in YEARS.
I reserve the right to change this claim after viewing 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'Django Unchained', 'The Impossible' and 'Les Miserables'....but despite pretty high expectations for each of those.... It will be a hell of a film if it passes 'Pi'
I went in with modest expectations, and intentionally knew as little about the film and story as possible.
And it floored me. I saw it Saturday night...haven't stopped thinking about it since. The ending not only inspires intense debate and discussion as it relates to the film, but is a rare case where it leads to debate about it's meaning beyond the story.
The CGI is fantastic, and overall the film is the best use of 3D I've ever seen. I know most people hate the concept of 3D, and I'm essentially in agreement, but this film looks SO fukkING GOOD
The story is interesting, fascinating and at times deeply emotional. It's brilliantly acted by almost everyone involved, and Irrfan Kahn is always great.
I feel like doing a full write up on my thoughts...but it'd probably go wasted on this site, so f it
I guess if anyone else has seen it we can discuss spoilers in here too....but please use the tags because I'd have hated to have this film spoiled for me.
*apologies to Mastermind's thread already in existence....but I couldn't not make my own
