No lie this been one of my fav games to date. I love mastering the parry timing and kicking ass.

It helps that they dont penalize quite as hard when you die compared to the Souls games

Wow, i can’t say it enough how impressed i am with this game.

They nailed it, down to the level design, story, characters.

This is easily the Goat souls clone.

Imagine "Elden Ring" with the parry mechanic from "Sekiro".

However the combat is not as open as "Elden Ring", there's really only three builds (heavy, light, and status effects) but there's a dope weapon crafting system. You can combine any blade with any handle (minus the boss weapons) which drastically changes how the weapon performs.

Puppet String is even better than the aegis shield to me when fully upgraded. The final upgrade does lots of physical and stagger damage

No.

I’d say it’s about as good as DS2 with more parry heavy combat.

Fallen Archbishop Andreus has become the first real skill check for me

The parry is more essential than I originally thought, I started trying to perfect parry his red attack instead of running from it.

I refuse to use the specter

combat in this game is very good, overall the game is very good. Right now I’d probably rate it above like 3 From games.

My main complaints is it’s a little on the easy side (nitpick really), and they go too hard in trying to mimic Fromsoft games. The little gimmicks and quirks in souls games are so overused in this game. Ex. The heavy door openings, guys hiding behind corners to ambush you, jumping down a well/tower on planks, the way people talk and laugh, etc.

Its like when the tomb raider reboot took the uncharted slide thing and did it 100 times.

Nah....

If you have a handle that allows you to stab (spear or dagger) you can keep Aegis up while attacking. And then get back any lost health in the process.

It's honestly broken.

The parry timing is slowly starting to click for me. This fight has made me reconsider my trusty Rapier tho

I'll be in the practice area experimenting with different weapons and handles for a while, I need to get proficient in at least one more weapon type on this first playthrough.
