After their arrests for shoplifting in China on Tuesday, UCLA freshman LiAngelo Ball and teammates Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were reportedly released on bail Wednesday, according to ESPN's Arash Markazi.
Markazi added that Ball and his teammates are being confined to the team hotel in Hangzhou, China, and will not be permitted to leave until the legal process plays out.
Markazi noted there is uncertainty regarding how long the legal process could take, writing it could be days, weeks or months. Tracy Pierson of Scout.com, citing multiple sources, noted the players "will more than likely have to remain in China for about a month." Pierson added, "At this point it's completely unknown what formal charges and recourse Chinese authorities will take against the three players. China has a history of being pretty Draconian in instances of foreigners committing crimes in their country."
