Pretty sure most American citizens in the 1800s are immigrants, therefore making it perfect sense to have an Irish accent.

You wanna talk accents, like @the next guy said, Sean Connery got him beat. The man played James Bond, King Arthur and King Richard and never even bothered to try to hide his accent.

Well at least Ian Flemming made it so that Bond was half scottish after seeing Connery's performance..i know its because he loved what he did with the role but im thinking it may have also had to do with the fact that he knew Sean wasn't changing that accent for shyt

Definitely because Connery would go back to flat-out admitting that it's alright to hit a woman before ever thinking about changing that accent, lol.
